Welding Holder and Clamp

The connecting pliers are used to create a negative connection to the welded part. In fact, these pliers act as clamps. The springs used in the connecting pliers must have a suitable and strong quality. And connect the connection pliers to the negative current.

Connection pliers are among the welding equipment that can be seen in the list of welding equipment. They are used in almost every welding process. Big projects would not be complete without them. Connection pliers are used to temporarily hold two workpieces together. Despite them, the pieces are held tightly together so that they can be welded together. They are often used to hold large sheets and pieces that cannot be easily held together by hand.

If you are new to the welding business and want to hold the parts together, we recommend a clamp (connection pliers). The clamps in the welding process are like a colleague to you.

Types of connection clamps

The type of clamp you use depends on the size of the project and the type of materials you work with. It is the experience in the welding profession that determines what type of connecting pliers to use. The number of connecting pliers is increasing every day. Even the most basic type has different types. Below is a list of the most famous connecting pliers.

C-pin or G-pin: One of the most common connecting pliers. They are used when materials require considerable pressure to bond together. Because they have the ability to hold materials well in place, one of their disadvantages is that they disassemble very slowly and are difficult to rearrange compared to other types of connecting pliers. There are several types of C connection pliers. One of them is lockable. Used for handicrafts. As a result, it does more than just a clamp.

F Clamp: The F Clamp is basically used to hold objects. Friction is the main factor holding objects in this clamp. It has a high opening capacity. For this reason, it is sometimes used as an alternative to the C clamp. Unlike the C clamp, you can adjust the F connection pliers very quickly and often with one hand.

Locking pliers: Locking clamps are mostly used for welding small materials. One of those types is sheet metal clamps. It is very similar to the locking pliers but is used for larger areas. They are suitable for welding sheet metal.

Jump clamps: These types of pliers are very affordable and very easy to use. You simply press the handle to open the clamp. The disadvantage of jumping clamps is their small opening capacity. Sometimes they are useful as an extra clamp to hold the material.

Welding pliers are used to generate electricity and are used to hold the electrode and attach the electrode to the material. In fact, welding pliers are used to hold the electrode to establish the necessary current between the welding cable and the electrode. Welding pliers are generally called positive current.

Welding pliers or electrode holder is an insulating handle to which the electrode is attached. A welder uses this device to control an arc. Its advantages are:

Excellent electrical current transfer between the electrode and the welding pliers.

Two different welding holding positions, such as 45 ° and 90 °.

The electrode cables are held in place with two Allen screws.

In order to improve safety, all welding pliers are completely insulated.

A welding pliers is actually a holder and clamp. This clamp is used to hold the electrode securely in any position. The welding cable goes through a hole. Welding pliers are insulated. The reason they are insulated is that if there is a connection between them and any part of the work, no problem will occur. And short circuit does not happen. Welding pliers provide quick and easy replacement of electrodes.

Safety recommendations for the use of welding pliers and connecting pliers

When starting work, first screw the connection pliers, then start welding to avoid damage to the connection pliers.

Use welding tongs and proper connection pliers for the welding machine.

Avoid welding with a very small electrode to prevent the welding tongs from burning.

Where you connect the pliers and the electrode to the body, it must be conductive.

Never immerse hot electrode pliers in water to cool.

Use welding pliers with a large enough current to prevent overheating of the pliers.
